Rear Glass for Cars
Parked Under Austin Trees
Sedans, hatchbacks and small crossovers parked on the street or in a driveway are the cars sitting under the branches when wind or ice brings them down. Their rear glass often carries a defroster grid, antenna lines or factory tint, so we match it to your VIN before the visit, not after.
Send a photo with the limb still in place, if it's safe, and your VIN.
Don't Ignore
Back Glass Damage

About 41% of Austin sits under tree canopy, so storms drop limbs on cars. The May 2025 storm brought gusts up to 77 mph. An open rear window lets rain and more debris in while you wait.
Here's why you shouldn't delay getting a back glass replacement:
Compromised Visibility:
A tarp over the opening blocks your rear view, and after a storm the streets are full of downed branches you need to see. New glass gives that view back.
Structural Weakness:
A limb heavy enough to shatter rear glass can also dent the roof edge or bend the frame. That has to be checked before new glass will seal.
Defroster/Defogger Issues:
Storms tend to leave cold, damp mornings behind them. With the rear glass gone, so is the defroster, and a fogged view behind you lasts until it's replaced.
Why Austin Homeowners
Call Us After a Storm?
With a tree, a yard and an insurer to deal with, we take the rear glass off your list.
Photos Before Cleanup:
We photograph the glass and limb damage before anything moves, so your insurer sees it.
We Check What It Hit:
Roof edge, trunk lid and seal, so nothing gets missed.
Glass Out of Car Seats:
Tempered glass gets into buckles, straps and seat folds. We vacuum and check them before anyone climbs back in.
Work Around the Tree:
If the limb can't move yet, we plan around its removal.

Our Process After a Branch Hits Your Car
Schedule Appointment
end photos of the damage with the branch still in place if it's safe, plus your VIN and address. If the limb is too heavy to move or a tree crew is coming, tell us and we'll book around them. We confirm the right glass and your free quote first.
Thorough Assessment:
The technician checks the roof edge, trunk lid and rear frame for dents the limb left, inspects the seal and confirms the defroster connections. If body damage has to be fixed before glass can seal, you hear it right away, before you spend anything on glass.
On-site Replacement:
The work happens where the car is parked, once the area around it is clear of hanging limbs.
Safe Removal of Damaged Glass:
Glass, leaves and twigs come out of the frame, seats, car seats and the trunk floor.
Back Glass Preparation & Installation:
The opening is cleared of storm debris and prepared for adhesive, the new glass is set and sealed, and the defroster and antenna are reconnected and tested.
Quality Check & Final Touches:
The technician tests the defroster, checks the seal for gaps rain could find, and points out any dents worth reporting to your insurer. You get a record of the job and the damage photos for your claim, plus drive-away guidance, before we leave your home.
Lifetime Workmanship Warranty on Eligible Back Glass
Request A QuoteStorm season doesn't end after one storm, so it helps to know what's covered. Eligible back glass replacements carry our lifetime workmanship warranty, subject to current terms. If rain gets in around the new glass or trim lifts because of the installation, contact us and we'll come back to it. Keep the job record with your storm claim paperwork, so both are in one place.
The warranty covers the installation, not the next limb. If another branch breaks the glass, that's new damage and usually a new claim. Trim limbs that hang over where you park, and when wind or ice is forecast, use the garage or park clear of trees.

Tree-Damage Claims
Damage from a falling tree or limb is generally covered under comprehensive insurance, according to the Insurance Council of Texas, depending on your policy and deductible. Before the branch is moved, photograph it on the car from a few angles. Insurers often ask for that.
We work with most major insurance carriers and help with the glass part of a tree-damage claim. If the limb also dented the roof or trunk, that body work is a separate repair, and your insurer decides coverage for each part. Not sure what to report first? Send us the photos and we'll tell you what we see.
Frequently Asked Questions
Only if it's small and safe to lift, and take photos first. A heavy limb, or one tangled in power lines, needs a tree service or the utility company, not us.
