ADAS
Calibration in Austin
For Highway Driving

A driver-assist problem on the highway can trace back to work done weeks earlier. A windshield gets replaced, a pickup gets an alignment or a leveling kit, and nobody re-aims the camera behind the glass or the radar behind the grille. Around town you may not notice. On SH 130 between Austin and Seguin, posted at 85 mph, the highest limit in the nation according to the Texas Tribune, a camera aimed a fraction off reads lane lines late and misjudges the gap ahead. GM, for one, requires forward camera calibration whenever the windshield is replaced.

We calibrate eligible cameras and supported radar on late-model pickups and full-size SUVs at your home or office in Austin.

When Do
Highway Drivers Need Calibration?

Calibration is needed whenever a camera or sensor may have moved. The manufacturer's procedure decides exactly when it's required.

After Windshield Replacement

On most late-model pickups and SUVs, the forward camera is mounted to the windshield. When the glass is replaced, the camera moves to the new glass. Even a small change in angle matters when the vehicle reads lane lines at highway speed.

Collision or Fender-Bender

A minor bump to the front bumper or grille can shift a radar sensor without leaving visible damage. Adaptive cruise may then brake late or for no reason on the highway.

Suspension or Wheel Alignment Work

A lift, a leveling kit, new tires or an alignment changes how a pickup sits, and with it how the camera sees the road.

After Sensor or Camera Replacement

A new camera or radar unit has to be installed and programmed by a qualified repair facility first. We calibrate it afterward so it's aimed where the manufacturer specifies before highway driving.

ADAS Calibration Quote & Timing

Your quote depends on the vehicle and the procedure. Full-size pickups and SUVs with both a camera and radar may need more than one calibration.

  • Vehicle year make and model
  • Calibration type (static, dynamic, or dual ADAS calibration)
  • OEM calibration requirements
  • System complexity and the number of sensors involved

Timing varies as well. It depends on the vehicle, the method, any fault codes the pre-scan finds and the conditions on the day, since dynamic calibration needs dry roads with clear lane lines. We give you an estimate after reviewing your VIN and the work done before, and we won't promise a time we can't confirm.

Why Choose WindshieldHUB
for ADAS Calibration?

Before & After
Why ADAS Calibration Matters

A miscalibrated sensor rarely shows a warning light. The error shows up at speed instead. Before calibration, lane keeping may drift toward one side or react late, and adaptive cruise may misjudge the gap to a truck ahead. After calibration, the camera and radar are aimed where the maker intended. Calibration doesn't make a vehicle self-driving; the driver stays responsible.
