New Mexico had the fourth-highest vehicle theft rate in the country in the first half of 2025, according to the NICB. Albuquerque police counted 36 Hondas stolen in early 2025, against 11 a year earlier, mostly from apartment lots. A theft attempt often starts with broken glass, and that's what we fix.

Windshield Replacement After Vandalism

Thieves rarely go through the windshield, but cars hit in apartment lots sometimes come out of it vandalized, with the windshield smashed too. Damage like that is past resin repair, so a replacement is the fix.

Your VIN tells us the right windshield, camera bracket and sensors, and we tell you before the visit whether calibration will be needed afterward, so it isn't a surprise. The technician also checks the frame for pry damage, because a bent edge stops new glass from sealing properly.

We come to your apartment lot, driveway or office in Albuquerque, so you don't drive around with broken glass on the seats. Same-day appointments may be available depending on glass, routing and weather. If police are on their way, take photos and let them see the car first.

Get a police report number before filing. Insurers often ask for one with theft and vandalism claims, and it helps the glass part of the claim move along without delay.

Chip Repair

Not all glass damage comes from thieves. Gravel on I-25 and I-40 leaves chips that resin can often fill while they're still small.

Already booking a window? The technician can look over the windshield on the same visit and fill any chips that qualify, which keeps the factory glass on the car and saves you a second appointment. Chips left alone tend to spread on Albuquerque's cold nights, so it's worth it.

  • Repair keeps your factory windshield, its seal and camera mount in place.

  • Most chip repairs take one short visit, done where you park.

  • Filling a chip early stops cold nights from spreading it into a crack across the glass.

Add a photo of each chip, with a coin next to it, when you book the window, and we'll tell you which ones resin can still fill.

Rear Glass Replacement

Some thieves break the rear glass instead, especially on SUVs with a bag visible in the cargo area. Tempered rear glass breaks all at once, into small pieces.

We clear what's left, vacuum the cargo area, seats and child seats, and fit rear glass matched to your VIN, including the defroster grid and any wiper or antenna. Every connection is reconnected and tested before the technician leaves, so the car locks again and the defroster works on cold Albuquerque mornings.

Until then, tape plastic over the opening and take valuables inside, since an open car is an easy second target. Then send a photo and your VIN.

ADAS Calibration After a New Windshield

If a theft attempt or vandalism meant a new windshield, the camera behind it may need re-aiming so lane keeping and pedestrian braking read the road correctly.

We calibrate eligible cameras and supported radar at your location when there's space for the setup, using static targets, a road drive or both as the maker requires. You get a written report afterward, which is useful for the insurance claim and for your own service records too.

Side and Quarter Window Replacement

Door windows and the small quarter glass behind them are common ways in for thieves. A car with a broken window can't be locked or secured overnight, so it's worth replacing quickly, before it becomes a target again.

We replace door, vent and quarter glass matched to your vehicle, clear glass from inside the door and the seat tracks, and check that the window rolls up smoothly and seals before the technician leaves your apartment lot.

Make Your Car a Harder Target in Albuquerque

Lock it, hide everything.

APD's advice: lock the car, park in a lit area or garage, and keep valuables out of sight. If glass still gets broken, send a photo and your VIN for a free quote.
